Breast Repair After Cancer<\/strong><\/p>\n

Breast Cancer is undoubtedly one of the nightmares of women.<\/strong> Fortunately, today, if diagnosed early, Breast Cancer can be treated successfully and patients can be completely cured of cancer.<\/p>\n

In the past, the entire breast was removed to get rid of cancer.<\/strong> In the past, in addition to the breast, the chest muscle and even the ribs were also removed. However, research and studies conducted over time have shown that such extensive tissue removal is not necessary to get rid of breast cancer. Nowadays, the breast structure is preserved and the cancer is treated by removing the cancer tissue in a way that leaves a small amount of sufficient tissue around it. Early diagnosis is very important for the success of treatment in breast cancer, as in every cancer. Regular screening and control are essential for early diagnosis.<\/p>\n

Once breast cancer is treated and the person gets rid of the fear of cancer from both her body and her mind, the lack of breasts or breast deformity negatively affects the morale of the woman. While some women accept this situation, some look for a solution.<\/p>\n

Post-cancer breast reconstruction is more of a Reconstruction than an Aesthetic Approach.<\/strong> In medical terms, this is called Breast Reconstruction.<\/p>\n

While relatively simple fat injection is sometimes sufficient to eliminate breast deficiency, sometimes a breast is reconstructed using the tissues in the abdomen or back. Silicone prostheses can also be used in breast reconstruction. Sometimes, in the same surgery, the inside of the breasts are emptied and breast reconstruction is performed by placing a silicone prosthesis inside them.<\/p>\n

In post-cancer breast reconstruction, many variables such as the condition of the patient and the breast, whether radiotherapy has been received, and the effect of chemotherapy are evaluated together. For a good repair, a joint working group should be established where Plastic Surgery, General Surgery and Oncology work together.<\/p>\n
